Meet our passionate team of early years practitioners

Joanne took over Little Squirrels Nursery back in 2015.

After years of being a primary school teacher & school SENCO, Jo wanted to pursue her career further. 

Alongside the staff at Little Squirrels, Jo enhanced the nursery setting and was the manager for a few years, until she then became a Senior lecturer at the University of Worcester & 

Joanne took over Little Squirrels Nursery back in 2015.

Alongside the staff at Little Squirrels, Jo enhanced the nursery setting and was the manager for a few years, until she then became a Senior lecturer at the University of Worcester & is now head of department for children & families & education & inclusion.

Kylie has worked in the setting since 2010.

After years of working her way up in many Early years settings and running her own after school club, Kylie became manager in 2017.

Kylie has adopted the Hygge approach, helping her to create an environment where children feel nurtured, loved & comfortable. An environment that feels like home while staff provide a learning rich environment.  Kylie has many years of experience with safeguarding & is the Designated safeguarding lead. 

Kylie works closely with all staff to ensure their well-being is being cared for, while supporting them in their roles at nursery. 

Kim started Little Squirrels as an apprentice and has worked her way up to becoming Deputy Manager. Kim developed her skills within Early years through practical learning here at Little Squirrels. Kim has a passion for working within the toddler room, supporting them where they are at for their age and stage of development., while working

Kim has developed a pedagogy alongside her colleagues for the Toddler room, that mirrors their excellent practice, mindful approach & passions within the early years.

Katrina has been with us since 2023. Katrina has experience of all ages and has experience in supervisor roles, supporting children and staff. She has an excellent understanding of child development and is fantastic at setting up learning rich activities to develop children's skills in all areas of learning.

Elaine has re joined our setting this January 2025.  We are super excited about her joining our team again. Elaine has a passion for encouraging children to love being in the outdoors, as she understands how important it is for children's well-being. Elaine also has a great understanding of how important it is for children to feel secure

Milly has been with us since 2022, starting as an apprentice when she left school. Milly has completed her Level 2 and is not studying her Level 3. Milly enjoys watching children reach new milestones and loves supporting their learning with sensory play experiences and creative play.

Maria has been with us since 2018.Maria has worked in many different nursery settings, including Australia where she worked in a kindergarten for a year. 

This built Maria's confidence and helped her build more knowledge and understanding of child development.

Maria loves providing exciting invitations to play for children, sparked from their own interests and ideas. Taking their lead, listening to their ideas and implementing learning opportunities within the environment for the children to explore. 

Pili has been with us since 2017. 

Pili supports us within all rooms at nursery, covering staff paperwork time and is currently supporting the pre-school room on busier days. 

Pili has over 20 years experience working with children and when you see Pili caring for children, you can just see how passionate she is about it.
